The objective of this Diploma Thesis is the investigation of driver attitude towards new technologies. Initially, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems were considered and their characteristics were analyzed. Subsequently, the elaboration of the results from the pan-European survey SARTRE 3 took place. The use of discriminant analysis allowed for the correlation of driver attitude towards new technologies with the number of accidents these drivers were involved, as well for the identification of critical parameters of this correlation. The factor analysis allowed for the grouping of questions critical for driver behavior towards new technologies. Basic finding of this investigation is the clearly positive position of Greek drivers towards new technologies, as well as their more positive attitude of drivers being involved in road accidents.
