This work presents the main directions of the development plan for the port of Piraeus, on the basis of a specific business plan. All parameters regarding service of the short-sea ships, including new technology ships, flying dolphins and car ferries as well as cruise ships and leisure boats, are investigated. Furthermore, parameters regarding the delimitation of the various land uses in the port zone (boat service, leisure, and other operations) as well as the configuration of the relevant spaces and building facilities are analyzed. Emphasis is given to the transportation service of the port’s operations, by investigating the operation of a road ring and planning the various traffic, stopping and parking spaces. An integrated approach is proposed aiming at the upgrade of the level of service for the passengers and other users, both within the port zone and the greater area of the port of Piraeus.
