The scope of the project is the scientific support for actions to improve drivers’ safety behaviour in Greece. For the achievement of project objectives, a scientifically sound and robust stepwise methodology will be followed which will include collection and processing of accident data from road safety databases regarding road infrastructure and traffic environment, driver behaviour and characteristics, motorcycles, pedestrians, driver distraction (e.g. mobile phone use), driving under the influence of substances, enforcement, intelligent Transport Systems and road safety strategies. The results of this methodology will be presented at special informationand awareness raising campaigns.
