“Obligation for the implementation of inter-operability at the electronic toll payment in Greece: potential for transformation of the National Highway Fund” carried out for the National Highway Fund (2007-2008)

The scope of this research project is to investigate the operation of tolling systems, the adopted technologies and the legal framework in which they operate. The objective of this project is the need for coordination, regulation and evolution of the operating framework of electronic fee collection (EFC) systems in Greece. Special mention should be made to the Directive 2004/52/EC and the European Electronic Tolling Service (EETS). The project report will include proposals for the new organizational EFC scheme in Greece and the future possible roles of the National Road Fund (TEO) S.A.
