Upgrades have been carried out on the motorway Patra-Pyrgos to
improve the road characteristics with emphasis on road safety, within the framework of the relevant project of the
Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. More spefically, works to install a new anti-slip asphalt, pruning, replacement/addition of signs, installation of safety barriers in both traffic directions over a length of approximately 45 km, light signaling at 18 existing junctions, street lighting at 7 existing junctions, construction of 5 pedestrian crossings have been carried out. According to the current timetable, the delivery of the new 75 km long highway between Patras and Pyrgos is planned for 2025, which will bring a significant reduction of road crashes.
