According to ELSTAT data, among the 795 persons killed in Greece in 2014: 415 were outside built-up areas and 401 were inside built-up areas. 59% of road fatalities outside built-up area occurred on national roads. More than 80% of road accidents and half of fatalities occurred inside built-up areas. However,accident severity is almost 5 times higher outside built-up areas in total.
